Himalays called us again .....this time at HAMPTA PASS trek in Himachal Pradesh. All the Himalayan Treks are no doubt breathtakingly beautiful & picturesque, but HAMOTA PASS IS SPECIAL...The uniueness of HAMPTA PASS trek is that it is a crossover trek where we start from the lush green forests of KULLU valley to reach the deserts of Lahul. Rarely we are able to witness such a contrast of surroundings on a trek. The change of scenery & landscapes is just magical. The beauty & the experience is so special that describing in words is not easy, so writing a picture blog. this time we will show you our journey through the eyes of the camera!!!!!!
This not very difficult if rain god does not get angry at you. It is unique & adventureous in the sense that you get to cross the river bare foot twice..Walking on pebbles in ice cold water with sufficient current is an experience in itself. One miss step & you are in trouble....The thought of getting wet with your backpack makes you ultra cautious.....though it seems fun now !!!!
We registered this trek with TREK THE HIMALAYAS though their website. Ours was BATCH 1 from 18th june to 22nd june 2024 with 25 trekkers. Our trek leader was Mr. Himanshu.The altitude of HAMPTA PASS is 14100ft.
DAY 1 (18 JUNE )
Drive 16 kms from MANALI (6730ft) to JOBRA (9300ft)
Trek 3 Kms from JOBRA (9300ft) to CHIKKA (10,100ft)
DAY 2 (19 JUNE)
Trek for 7 kms from CHIKKA to BALU KA GHERA (12000ft)

Trek for about 8 kms from BALU KA GHERA to SHEA GORU (3900 ft) via HAMPTA PASS (14100ft)

DAY 4 (21 JUNE)
Trek for 7 kms from SHEA GORU to CHATRU (11000 ft ) .Then drive to CHANDRATAAL and back to CHATRU.
